Staff..........
Bright, cheerful classrooms are well equipped to
offer each child abundant opportunities to explore and learn.
Our teachers are educated and experienced in the
field of early childhood development and education, helping to
provide an emotionally secure environment for young children. They
recognize the importance of the role they play in your child’s life
each day, and provide a nurturing approach to the physical,
emotional, social and intellectual development of the children
entrusted to them.
Because we
are caring for children, it is imperative that the care we provide
is consistently the highest quality. Our teaching staff
meets or exceeds the state’s requirements on education and
experience. All new teachers are required to complete a series of
Staff Training Modules. Teacher training is ongoing through staff
meetings, CWELC Teacher Workshops, college classes, and community
training classes. All staff members are screened using finger
print/CBI checks and personal and professional references.
Parent
Participation and Center Events.....
Parents
are a valuable resource to our program. If you have time to help in
the classroom or with preparations for special projects or events,
we welcome your participation. Parent volunteers on field trips are
always welcome. We have an open door policy on parent visitations to
their child’s classroom.
The
Children’s Workshop hosts family activities, programs and
performances throughout the year. These provide wonderful
opportunities to get to know other families, teachers, and your
children’s friends at school.
Communication,
Reports and Conferences.......
Communication between parents and teachers will be done on a daily
basis through conversation as well as written, ‘daily report’
sheets. The written ‘daily report’ should help you visualize your
child’s day, the activities they participated in, what they ate,
when they slept. This information creates a good link between center
and home life.
You or
your child’s teacher may request a conferences, at any time.
Parent/Teacher conferences and progress reports are scheduled each
year.
Monthly
news letters and calendars of events are provided to you each month,
by the Director and staff of The Children’s Workshop. Weekly lesson
plans are posted on the ‘Parent’s Bulletin Board’ in the main entry
way or in your child’s classroom.
Meals
and Snacks.......
A well
balanced, nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack are served each day,
at no additional cost to you.
CACFP approved menus are posted on the 'Parents
Bulletin Board each week, for your convenience. Please notify the
office, in writing, of any food allergies. Special dietary foods
must be supplied by the parent.

Field
Trips and Transportation.......
Special
field trips are arranged throughout the year. These trips are always
posted on the weekly lesson plans. Departure and return times are
indicated on these plans. Every effort will be made to be prompt,
but safety is always our primary concern. The Registration
Application signed by you, gives the center permission to take your
child on field trips. If you do not want your child to be included
on a field trip, you must notify the office in writing.
The
center’s vans are used for transportation on field trips. Only staff
members, with good driving records, current licenses, and approval
of our insurance company, are allowed to transport children.
Cellular phones are provided on the vans for emergencies. Parents
are welcome to transport their own children on field trips. No child
will be allowed to ride with another child’s parent unless a written
request has been received in advance from that child’s parent or
guardian.
School
vans and approved drivers are used to transport children to and from
elementary schools for before or after school care.
Transportation to and from most Fort Collins and Loveland elementary
schools is available. Check with individual center locations.
